Most of our courses offer you the chance to take an industrial placement during your studies with us.

Undergraduate students can undertake a 40 week paid industrial placement during your third year. This exciting opportunity gives you the chance to put the skills and knowledge that you have developed through your first two years of study into practice.

Masters students will also have the opportunity to engage with business on an placement or internship basis or by undertaking a consultancy project.

Taking a placement will enhance your career opportunities as you are able to offer future employers industry experience as well as a degree. The experience will help you to build industry contacts and make an informed decision about your future career.

The School of Design, Engineering & Computing has strong industry links and our students have worked with a wide range of companies both in the UK and abroad such as IBM, Dyson, Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd, Jaguar Cars Ltd and Microsoft.
